Avenue of the Flags

Patriotic Community Service

The Avenue of the Flags is a community service project where the Adrian Kiwanis Club will place the United States flag in front of your home or business on significant holiday events annually. We believe the appearance of the Avenue of the Flags in our community creates a national awareness and pride. They are an impressive sight lining our city streets.

The holidays we’ve chosen to fly these flags include:

  • Memorial Day
  • Flag Day
  • Juneteenth
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Patriot Day on 9-11 and
  • Veteran’s Day

The flags are delivered and set up for you on those days.

We affix the flags to poles. They are then inserted into a pre-set plastic sleeve in the ground, between the curb and the sidewalk, normally about two feet inside the curb at a visible location. The receptacle sleeve is installed flush at ground level, so as to not impede walking or lawn care.

This project is a volunteer-run, fundraising project for the Kiwanis Club of Adrian. All of the proceeds from this project go towards the many community programs and improvements.

Avenue of Flags Sponsorship

If you would like to begin a subscription to this service, please download and complete the pdf form below.

The cost for one or two flags at a location is $45 annually.

For three or more flags at one location, the cost is $35 per flag annually.

The flag service will be re-billed on an annual basis. Flags must be paid for prior to installation.

Will you consider sponsoring some flags at your home or business this year?

Through this, we are meeting our original goal of being a flag awareness community with patriotic display and also as a handsome fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Adrian.

Spread the Patriotism

Due to the increasing number of installations requested, we often partner with local organizations to assist in this. Under the capable leadership of the current Flag Committee, the project should continue to grow and profit, thus benefiting our community overall.
